About us

UBF is a 3 nights a week raiding guild on EU Arathor, Hellfire, Kilrogg, Nagrand, Runetotem on Alliance.

Founded in 2009 (End of TBC) on server: Blade&pos;s Edge, since then UBF moved to Kul&pos;Tiras and now been on Arathor since MoP Pre-patch and has expanded its goals and reach throughout many years in World of Warcraft.

Currently, most of our roster is Scandinavian and British, but we do have (both past and present) representative from other parts of Europe, and the rest of the world as well.

What you can expect from us

We consider ourselves a community with a passion for the game. We not only raid together, but play together outside main raids, and try to have as much fun together as we can, both in and out of raids. That being said, we have high expectations from our raiders and recruits during our raids; we have fun while killing bosses, not at the expense of killing them.

We are enthusiastic and eager to play, raid and improve, and help where we can.

We usually do alt raids, and sometimes do other guild activities including unscheduled 5mans, achievement runs and occasionally some PvP together.

Most of all, if you want to join UBF, you should be prepared for laughs and banter on Discord, and a more casual raiding atmosphere than what you might expect. While we expect a high level of play from our raiders, we sound more like a kindergarten than a military unit, truth be told.

As an added bonus, we provide our raiders with free:

  • Flasks
  • Potions
  • Enchants (Loot from raids only)
  • Gems (Loot from raids only)

What we expect from you

You are expected to be able to play at a high level, be consistent and flexible. This includes knowing what’s good for your class/spec for a given situation, being open to playing different specs where beneficial (i.e. hunters being able to play MM, SV and BM, healing priests playing Disc and Holy). If you are open to playing a different role than the one you are applying as, that is a plus, but not a requirement.

  • Keeping yourself up to date with Guild News & Announcements
  • Be 18+
  • Have Discord and a working microphone
  • Maintain a raid attendance of at least 2/3 raidnights
  • Come prepared. This means knowing your class and bosses, be enchanted/gemmed, have pots and flasks etc.
  • Be able to take constructive criticism

Raid schedule

  • Monday 21:00-23:30
  • Wednesday 21:00-23:30
  • Thursday 21:00-23:30

All times are in server time (CET/CEST). Raid invites start at 20:45, and we try to pull the first boss at 21:00.

You are expected to inform the officers if you will be unable to attend or be late for a raid, preferably a day in advance where possible.

There will only be one 10 minute break and will be about half way through the raidnight when the raidleader calls it. (if you need a minute during trash clearing; inform the acting raidleader)

Loot Distribution

We currently use RCLootCouncil to distribute loot. We don't run a loot council but the addon gives us extra flexibility that current blizzard implementation does not. We have several options to choose from with loot:

  • Need: This is for larger upgrades and BiS items such as trinkets or tier pieces
  • Minor: Relatively small ilvl upgrades on items you already have or minor DPS increases from weapons/trinkets
  • Offspec/Alt: Any alt or offspec (unless cleared with the raid leader first) will use this option regardless of how much of an upgrade it is. Mains and main specs will get priority first
  • Transmog: The real end game content but this gets the lowest priority since it doesn't help progression
  • Pass: Default option if you don't need an item. Most items you can't use will auto pass from the addon
  • BoEs are personal loot so do with these as you please.
For recipies that drop in the raid we ask that only people with appropriate skill level roll on these. An appropriate skill level would be max profession skill plus max or almost maxed out skill trees to create the max rank of that item

Recruitment

Recruits are trialed for 1-4 weeks, depending on how much time is required to evaluate performance. If there are no doubts, a trial period is unlikely to last more than a week.

Trials are encouraged to contact an Officer during their trial period if they have any questions.
